In the story, a girl named Cady Heron starts her junior year of high school in Evanston, Illinois. She has lived all her life in Africa. She quickly makes friends with two outsiders, Janis and Damian, who persuade her to pretend to be friends with Regina George, North Shore High’s queen bee and “mean girl” title character.
The three friends come up with a way to ruin Regina’s perfect little life, which could help Cady steal Regina’s boyfriend, Aaron Samuels. The original movie came out in 2004 and was partly based on Rosalind Wiseman’s book Queen Bees and Wannabes.
